A syndicate that trafficked girls to Dubai for prostitution has been arrested by the NAPTIP.
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) recently nabbed a prostitution syndicate. The syndicate specializes in trafficking Nigerian girls to the Dubai in the United Arab Emirate.
The arrested prostitute ring operators include Blessing Gabriel, the ring leader who is based in Dubai, Homuere Terry Smooth, Priscilla Effiong Bassey, Precious Ejiro Owoh, and Rose Gabriel, while two of the girls were rescued, as reported by Pulse.
While parading the suspects in Lagos, Josiah Emerole, NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations, said that agency was tipped off by videos of naked girls swearing oath of allegaince which was posted on social media.
Emerole added that one of the victims identified as Ann, was brought back home to re-united with her family, while the other victim, identified as Chisom, will soon be re-united with her family.
The NAPTIP Head of Press and Public Relations also claimed the suspects would be arraigned in court soon, while efforts are being intensified at the diplomatic level to track all other members of this syndicate who are still in Dubai.
