Shira Banki, an Israeli teenager aged 16, has died after sustaining wounds from an armed Ultra-Orthodox man during a Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem.
The deceased was allegedly one of the six people stabbed by the suspect, Yishai Shissel during the parade.
However, the suspect was arrested at the scene and some Police Officers have lost their policing job for not keeping him under surveillance as he was just released from prison. Two of the remaining five victims has been discharged while three others are still responding to treatment in the hospital.
The suspect was charged to a court sitting in Jerusalem on Friday where he gallantly condemned the activities of the homosexuals before the magistrate. He said,
I do not accept this court’s authority! This court is part of the mechanism of evil. I have no interest in cooperating at all. I do not recognize any of the regime’s institutions
Candlelight vigils have been held in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in memory of Shira by her friends, relations and loved ones. The suspect, Yishai Shissel had been arrested for stabbing three persons at a similar event in 2005 and was released weeks ago before his rearrest.
