English singer-songwriter, actor and television personality Christopher James Hardman popularly known as Lil Chris has passed away at 24.
Lil Chris was born 26th August 1990 and he came into limelight after appearing on the Channel 4 programme, Rock School in which KISS lead singer Gene Simmons made a rock band at Lil Chris‘ school in 2006.
That same year, he signed an album deal with RCA and released the single “Checkin’ It Out” which charted at number 3 in the UK chart and a self-titled album.
No details about the cause of Lil Chris‘ death has been revealed, however, his family and friends have posted tributes online.
His close friend, Lloyd Wilkinson – who he once recorded a single with, payed his respect to.
I cannot believe I’m doing this and I’m completely devastated.‘Rest in peace brother bear. Love you mate. Chris Hardman, Aka Lil’ Chris.
His death came barely less than four months after Lil Chris revealed he was set to have a comeback in his music career, after not releasing an album since 2008 ‘What’s It All About.’
In December, he wrote on Twitter:
I’m planning to come back again! Hopefully, this time for a little longer! Keep sticking around for updates.
Earlier this month, Lil Chris revealed that he considers giving up his career as a singer due to his state of depression.
Lil Chris has been outspoken about suffering with depression, mentioning. He once said ‘I hope to one day create a way out of depression that doesn’t mean taking your own life. The Cure.’
Depression really sucks. Learning how to notice it can save lives and your own feelings at times. Take time to understand it, for everybody. Thinking about quitting music forever…there has to come a time eventually when I have to face reality. I’m just not good enough.
Rest In Peace, Christopher James Hardman also known as Lil Chris.
