Former Senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro has been confirmed as a Federal Government of Nigeria Minister by the Nigerian Senate today. This is despite, according to reports, APC Senators vowing to disrupt his political ambition after the news of an audio leak surfaced of Obanikoro, Fayose planning to rig last June Ekiti State election.
President Jonathan listed Obanikoro amongst six others for Ministerial positions earlier this year. Obanikoro‘s senate approval was postponed twice in the last 2 weeks before his appointed as minister was officially confirmed by the Senate today.
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State under the flagship of PDP first tweeted a congratulatory message at Obanikoro‘s success before Obanikoro himself confirmed the news by tweeting;
“I want to use this medium to express my profound gratitude to my distinguished colleagues in the Senate for their kind support. #MO.”
