The Saudi Arabian government is rewarding the families of the 6 Nigerian pilgrims, who lost their lives in the mecca crane crash on friday,the 11th of September. 5 victims from Gombe and 1 from kaduna. With N70million as a compensation for their lost ones. To add to this,the Saudi Arabian government has also made an expense free slot, for 3 members from each of the 6 families to attend next year’s haj(pilgrimage) in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian government announced that,the families of those who died in the crane crash will be compensated with one million Saudi Riyals(SR1,000,000) . SR1,000,00 and SR500,00 to the 331 injured with a permanent disability and mild injuries.
One Saudi Riyal is equivalent to N70
The royal court of Saudi Arabia added that;
“The injured who cannot perform hajj this year,will perform it next year as the kings guest.The families of the injured who stay in hospitals for treatment, shall be granted visiting visa to take care of the injured during the remaining period of the hajj. And return to their country“.
