Recent reports have it that mother of Coach Samson Siasia has regained her freedom.
Madam Beauty Siasia, mother of Nigeria’s Under 23 coach was kidnapped two weeks ago at her home in Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa State.
According to Vangurad news, the 72-year-old woman, who was abducted by three armed men, was was rescued Saturday along the East-West road by men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Bayelsa State Police command where she was abandoned by her captors.
Asinim Butswat, spokesman of Bayelsa State Police Command, has confirmed the development. The spokesman confirmed that;
Madam Beauty Siasia, who was abducted on the 16 November, 2015, was abandoned by her abductors along the East West Road, at about 0130hrs, 28 November, 2015, due to hot pursuit by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Police Command.
She is hale and hearty and has been reunited with her family. The Police has intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects.
We are yet to hear from Coach Samson Siasia, who has been troubled since his mother’s kidnap. It is also unclear if a ransom was paid or not. Many Nigerians have strongly condemned the high rate of kidnapping in the country, especially in the South South region of Nigeria.
