President Goodluck Jonathan covers the front page of This Day Style Magazine today, 15th March, 2015. On the cover page, Mr President can be seen wearing his famous Bayelsa attire lace with a black hat. Goodluck Jonathan was interviewed by Style editor, Ruth Osime where he talked about his childhood days, educational background, his achievements in the last six years, Boko Haram and several other important issues. Take a look at some of the questions and answers from the interview;
What will you say are the milestones that have given you the most pleasure as President?
There are many. The one that comes to my mind immediately is Nigeria’s winning of the African Cup of Nations in 2013. I remember that I was in London on an official visit but set aside everything else that evening to watch the finals with my aides and share the joy of all Nigerians at the victory of our glorious Super Eagles who played wonderfully well throughout the tournament.
Your administration, more than any other before it, has given more places to women in key roles in government. Should you win the coming elections, do we expect the same fair representation of women in your government?
Definitely, I still believe that since women constitute about 50 percent of our population, we will be shortchanging ourselves of 50 percent of our available human resources and brain, if we fail to give them an equal chance to contribute to national growth and development. if I am re-elected, we will do even more than we have already done to carry women empowerment and gender equality.
