Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, if we recall, promised to see to the end of terrorists group Boko Haram.
The President recently granted a correspondent fro BBC news an interview, where e discussed the promise made to the citizens of Nigeria.
He said, he can boldly say that the military has been able to defeat the group as they no longer bomb places filled with people or military posts. Buhari said, even as the government has not finally succeeded in making sure Boko Haram is completely destroyed, they are at the verge of completely destroying them.
President Buhari said:
I think, technically, we have won the war,The jihadists have been forced to cut back on suicide bombings as a result of the military action against them
Boko Haram has reverted to using improvised explosive devices (IEDs). They have now been reduced to that.Boko Haram is an organised fighting force, I assure you, [but] we have dealt with them.
As the deadline given for the total destruction of the terrorists has almost been exhausted, Bashir Sa’ad Abdullahi, BBC corespondent in Abuja, said the deadline might eventually be extended.
