Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly fired the service chiefs today, 13th of July, 2015.The relieved service chiefs were appointed by former president, Goodluck Jonathan.
Military officials told PREMIUM TIMES last week that the delay in sacking the service chiefs made the military relent in the fight against jihadist sect, Boko Haram. They knew they would be sacked anytime and at such, didnt intensify their efforts in fighting the Boko Haram Islamist Sect.
The sacked service chiefs include the Chief of Defence, and the heads of Army, Navy and the Air Force. The President is yet to appoint the succeeding service chiefs.
