President Muhammadu Buhari has returned from his trip to Germany early today Tuesday, 9th June, 2015 to have an emergency meeting with party leaders and legislators in order to curb the crisis currently rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC).
President Buhari has been away for the G7 Summit that held in Germany. While he was away, the party went through a power tussle for position of Senate President. The main contenders for the position are Senator Bukola Saraki, reportedly the PDP‘s preferred candidate and Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan who has been endorsed by the APC.
The meeting of APC legislators with President Buhari scheduled to hold this morning will hopefully put an end to the crisis so that the new government can have more time to devote to actual governance.
