Lassa fever is gradually becoming an epidermic in the country. its widespread is at the moment unpredictable . Several persons have been currently being monitored in many parts of the country to curtail the spread of the disease.
The epidemic Lassa fever disease which is on widespread has reportedly killed two persons in Ondo State. This was confirmed by the Health Commissioner, Mr. Dayo Adeyanju in a meeting which focused on sanitizing stakeholders, and other institution on the epidemic disease.
He stated that over 31 persons who have had contact with an infected person are currently being monitored. However to combat the disease, Mr Adeyanju said the Outbreak Control Team have been revived and emergency lines have been given out so that cases are reported as soon as possible
The Federal Government has set aside over N40 million in order to combat Lassa fever in the country.
