Nigerian entertainers, especially major players in Nollywood attended the Delta State political campaign rally of President Goodluck Jonathan en masse. This is probably a clear indication of their endorsement of the candidature of the incumbent president. This does not come as a surprise since his administration gave the Nigerian film industry the sum of three billion naira (N3 Billion) in 2013 as grant to increase the quality of their production.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is seeking re-election despite a major opposition by General Muhammad Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate. Analysts have predicted that this is the most contested presidential election Nigeria has ever had.
With the advent of the Boko Haram terrorism of major areas of North-Eastern Nigeria and reported flagrant abuse of power and corruption of public officers in Dr. Goodluck Jonathan‘s government, he will need all the endorsements he can garner to win the next presidential election.
Nigerian entertainers present at the rally are Patience Ozokwor, also known as Mama G, Ramsey Nouah, Kingsley Ogbonna, Omoni Oboli and many other entertainers like Daddy Showkey, Gordons and so on.
