The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) have appointed and confirmed former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh as new coach of the Super Eagles.
NFF initially invited him to assist former coach, Stephen Keshi but he expected his potentials on the field to earn him the position of being coach and as per that, he turned down the offer. The NFF had earlier announced parting ways with Keshi when Sudan defeated the Eagles, one of the defeats that contributed to Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the last Nations Cup.
According to reports, the new eagles coach will be assisted by a Dutch and the duo would reportedly be unveiled in Abuja next week. Sunday Oliseh allegedly signed the contract in London on Tuesday.
Former Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has also been accused by the NFF of not committing himself to the success of the Super Eagles. He was also accused of applying to replace former Ivorian coach, Herve Renard while he still had a contract with NFF. Even though Stephen Keshi denied the allegation, the NFF has appointed Sunday Oliseh as new coach of the Super Eagles. Congrats to him!
