The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) revealed that about 3,500 male sex workers have been discovered in Abuja, the Federal Capital territory alone.
The Director General of the agency, Professor John Idoko made this known at a recent lecture. He disclosed that a study carried out by the body found out the strange figure which is very worrisome. The body found out the strange figure which is very worrisome.
Prof. Idoko also noted that 60% of the male sex workers who hang out in clubs soliciting for customers are married men, thereby raising serious concern of spouse HIV transmission.
Idoko also added that the study showed that a high proportion of married women in Cross River and Benue States had other sexual partners.
This comes as a big surprise to many Nigerians, as prostitution in the country was known to be exclusively for women.
