Celebrated Yoruba actor, Muyiwa Ademola underscores the severity of piracy in the entertainment industry.
Multi-award winning Yoruba actor, Muyiwa Ademola, in a recent interview shared his opinion about piracy in the entertainment industry.
Muyiwa Ademola said piracybin the movie industry is as serious as the neferious Boko haram terrorist group.
Seriously speaking piracy is just like Nigerians living with Boko haram insurgents because we cannot actually do much to curb it on our own. It’s a government thing. It is what the government should do for us, government have to step in, we cannot do so much on our own. Even if we managed to arrest pirates, after arresting what do you think we should do? We cannot take laws into our hands so we hand them over to the law enforcement agencies. After the law enforcement agency what happens? And that is why we are pleading and begging the government to do more. The government should come to our rescue. Government should come up with bills that will prosecute perpetrators that is just what we are praying for.
Muyiwa Ademola called on the government to key into the entertain industry in order to promote its growth. The talented actor, who has been in the industry for 24 years, cited Nollywood as a potential employer of job in the Nigerian economy.
