A man identified as Paul Nonso Nzedebe allegedly beat up his wife and used pliers to cut off her ear.
Mr Nzedebe has reportedly been marriage to Nwogo for 11 months. A close family friend disclosed that the marriage has been experiencing some hiccups.
It was gathered that Nzedebe often turned his wife into a punching bag when they had a disagreement.
The last straw was when he allegedly beat her up over a minor quarrel and she reported him to the police. He was invited, interrogated and told to go home and make peace with his wife but when he got home, he descended on her and in the process, cut off her ear.
But another twist has been added to the case as one of Nzedebe’s close friends took to Facebook to state that Nwogo had been abusive, slapping and hitting her husband whenever they had any issue, based on the fact that she is from a rich home and her family sponsored their wedding.
Domestic violence have been sternly criticized in several quarters. Couples have been advised to look for amicable ways of ironing out their differences, instead of resorting to violence. Many have also cautioned wives to tread careful and avoid provoking their husbands to anger. Husbands have also been warned not to raise their hand against their wife.
