Locals of Ilara Village in Ogun State have dragged the highly respected Pastor Adeboye to court for trespassing on their land.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christain Church of God (RCCG), has been dragged to court by locals of Ogun state.
The locals accused Pastor Adeboye of encroaching in to their land. The purported land is situated in Ilara Village, Sagamu local government area of Ogun state.
Kayode Akinsola, the counsel of the locals, filed a suit number HOS/130/15, dated August 10 at an Ogun High Court in Sagamu.
They alleged that they noticed Pastor Adeboye’s workers working and trespassing on their land. The locals said they saw some men on June 2015 on their land using excavators to pull down their buildings. The locals also revealed that the destruction were carried out on the instruction of the Redeemed Church, one of Nigeria’s largest and richest Pentecostal churches.
The locals have claimed damages of 10 million naira. The court has put September 3 for the hearing of the suit.
The highly respected man of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye recently claimed that he is richer than Bill Gates. Pastor Adeboye is yet to make any public statement on the issue.
