A Zimbabwean tourist guide was attacked by a lion in Hwange National Park.
A Zimbabwean tourist guide was devoured by a lion some days ago. The tourist guide was attending to tourists in the Hwange National Park when he was attacked by the lion.
Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZPWMA) alleged that Quinn Swales, the Zimbabwean tourist guide, was on a walking safari with six foreign tourists when he was attacked.
The guide reportedly saw fresh lion spoors and decided to track the lions when one of them pounced on him. Efforts to rescue him proved abortive but none of the tourists was injured.
Zimbabwean police are still investigating the incident. Few months ago, 13-year-old, rare black-maned lion was killed by American hunter Walter Palmer in the same park.
Security and tourism experts have called for improved security measures for both the tourists, tourists guide and the animals as well. They decried the high rate of ugly incidents in tourists areas and animal parks.
