KAI and the RRS arrested 109 persons crossing the expressway in Ketu.
Officials Kick Against Indiscipline KAI, arrested no fewer than 109 persons for crossing the expressway at Ketu Bus Stop, along Ikorodu road. They were arrested for not using the pedestrian bridge instead.
The arrests were made by both the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of Lagos State Police Command, and officials of Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI.
According to Mr Olatunji Disu, RSS Commander, the arrests are to deter people from crossing the expressway and use the pedestrian bridges instead. Among those arrested were 102 men and seven women.
According to reports, several people have been knocked down trying to cross the expressway. Some have even lost their lives in the process.
Also, some people have allegedly complained about the poor state of the pedestrian bridges. They claimed that most of the pedestrian bridges are very dirty and serve as hives for thieves and other miscreants. As a result, there have been calls to fix the pedestrian bridges and ensure the safety of pedestrians.
