The Ivory Coast Football Federation has finally shortlisted 5 candidates to replace former coach, Herve Renard who led the ‘Elephants of Ivory Coast‘ to a success in the 2015 African Cup of Nations. Amongst the shortlisted candidates, Stephen Keshi‘s name was left out.The five shortlisted contestants are Portuguese coach Paulo Duarte, Polish manager Henryk Kasperczak and the French trio of Patrice Neveu, Frédéric Antonetti and Michel Dussuyer.
The Nigerian football coach, Stephen Keshi had earlier been suspended by the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) after rumours had it that he applied to succeed the Ivorian coach in a contest with other international football coaches and managers. Stephen Keshi denied the claims and the NFF has began investigation on the Issue.
Stephen Keshi became coach of Nigeria national team in 2011 and has been suspended along the line. He almost resigned but has been urged to continue.
