Reports reaching us state that ISIS has asked their supporters to kill staffs of social network media firm, Twitter, including it’s Cofounder, Jack Dorsey over the suspension of about 2000 accounts linked to the terrorist organisation. With the suspension of these accounts, it will now be somewhat difficult for terror groups to make statements or post videos/pictures on Twitter and expect the information to go viral.
ISIS has released several threats since the suspension started last week. One of them reads;
“Twitter management should know that if they do not stop their campaign in the virtual world, we will the bring the war to them in the real world on the ground.”
Another threat statement they received reads:
“Every Twitter employee in San Francisco in the United States should bear in mind and watch over himself because on his doorstep there might be a lone wolf assassin waiting.”
Investigations are currently ongoing to confirm the veracity of the ISIS threats.
Earlier, locally, Twitter suspended an account of Nigerian terrorist group, Boko Haram. With cooperation from other social media firms including Youtube, the fight against ISIS and terror electronically might help to curb the menace.
