Muslim leaders in Ekiti State have warned their flock against accepting rams from Governor Ayodele Fayose.
As the Islamic feast approaches, Imamas in Ekiti State have cautioned Muslims against accepting rams and other gifts from the governor, Ayodele Fayose.
According to Punch news, Muslim religious leaders gave the order at a meeting held on Tuesday, September 15, at Ansar-u-Deen Society Central Mosque Odo-Otu, Ado Ekiti.
Reports have it that the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations in Ekiti state had earlier condemned Governor Fayose for neglecting Muslims in political appointments.
In a resolution at the end of the meeting, the Imamas and Alfas concluded that;
Based on the above, the League, Ekiti State Council, hereby resolved that no Muslim in the state should collect rams and other food items, if presented to them in any form by the government.
Any Muslim that collects such rams or food items under any guise has taken Haram (Unlawful) and the punishment of the Almighty Allah awaits the person. (Quran 71 verse 28).
This order stands until the government accedes to our demands as earlier published.
Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose is known for what he called “stomach infrastructure”, which entails sharing food stuffs to hungry masses. However, the Imams have warned their flock not to collect such gifts for the upcoming Muslim feast.
