Despite moving to Major League Soccer side, Montreal Impact, former Chelsea FC, Drogba still has love for the “billionaire club.” He’d like to manage it some day.
Cote d’Ivoire and Montreal Impact player, Didier Drogba has indicated interest in managing his former premiership club, Chelsea FC. Drogba who reportedly scored 164 goals for Chelsea while playing for them told BBC that it is his way of giving back to the club.
I want to give back to the club which has given so much to me. I have agreed that with the club directors. Why not manager? Why not sporting director, trainer at the academy or maybe an advising role for strikers?
On the fact that the club has struggled so much this season, Drogba seemed to have waived it aside when he said that the club does not usually have a bad season twice.
Drogba who is now 37 years old thinks the club has “quality management” referring to Jose Maurinho.
If the club has kept him that means owner Roman Abramovich thinks that he is the right man. I think the players trust him and he is giving his best to change the situation. They have quality when it comes to the players, and quality when it comes to the management”
Drogba left Chelsea for Canadian Montreal Impact a few months ago. Since moving to Montreal Impact in July 2015, Drogba has had a beautiful time. The hat-trick he scored on his first major league soccer game is considered a record.
