The ongoing fuel scarcity/shortage and drastic drop in power supply in the country has forced commercial banks to plan for early closure of their halls to customers.
Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) for example sent emails to all their customers yesterday saying they will close nationwide at 1pm from today Monday 25th May.
The current shortage of petroleum products in the country has limited our ability to supply diesel to all our branches, in order to continue normal branch operations.
Due to this, we unavoidably have to close our branches nationwide at 1pm, from tomorrow Monday, 25th May 2015.
Whilst we have had to take this step to close branch operations early, we would like to seek your understanding at this time, and assure you that we will continue to work hard at finding alternative solutions to this situation and will advise you once the situation has abated.
Heritage Bank also said they will close by 2pm from today;
Due to the current shortage of petroleum products, our banking halls will close by 2pm from today 25/05/15. All inconveniences are regretted.
Recall that certain radio stations have also decided to close at 8pm daily instead of their normal 24 hours service due to the fuel scarcity/shortage.
