In an interview with Channels TV, Foluke Daramola spoke vociferously against the high rate of rape in Nigeria. The famous actress, who has also been a victim of rape, condemned in strong terms the high spate of rape especially rape of little children.
There are high rape cases in the country because men lack self-control and are motivated by what they see.
When asked whether the ulgy trend was caused by indencent dressing, she had this to say;
It is not about indecent dressing. If you see the trend of things now, you will see that the rape victims are more of the pedophiles (men who sexually abuse children). You can’t tell me that have to do with their mode of dressing. What about the society that go nude? We still find out that their men still control themselves, so to a large extent that cannot be attributed to their mode of dressing.
She claimed that men use the guise of indecent dressing to perpetuate their nefarious acts. She also lamented how victims are often forced to suffer in silence because of the stigma attached to rape.

She lived with the agony of the rape such that it affected her first marriage to Tunde Shobowale.
