Operators of Radio Biafra have refuted claims by the Federal Government that its transmissions signals has been jammed by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission.
The permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Information, Yemi Folashade-Esan made this statement while speaking with correspondents after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari on the success the ministry has made in jamming the transmission signals of the controversial radio station which was accused of operating from a unknown destination without a license. She said,
We also gave a report on that because right now the signals from Radio Biafra have been jammed. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has successfully jammed that. The NBC is also working with security operatives to get those that are behind that radio because it is an illegal radio. It is not licensed by anybody to be on Nigeria’s airwaves.
However, the Radio station has refuted the reports thats its transmission signals has been jammed via its twitter handle. See tweet below:

The controversial radio station is allegedly one which was established to promote the independence of the igbo tribe and rubbish other ethnic groups. Radio Biafra also accused the President Buhari of making anti-igbo speeches in an interview with BBC Hausa which the presidency has denied. The Radio station reportedly broadcasts and transmits to Nigeria from London in Europe .
