There is news currently circulating on the social media about former Avaition Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode turning against President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan after he conceded to General Muhammadu Buhari. As you already know, Femi Fani-Kayode worked as the Media Director of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization. The information about Fani-Kayode turning against President Jonathan an edited version of an old story which some bloggers have copied, doctored and published.
The original story published by Premium Times on 25th April, 2013 was titled “Fani-Kayode blasts Jonathan; says President is leaving legacy of “destruction and disaster””. The story has been hijacked by bloggers and unsuspecting Nigerians have reacted to the story in many ways.
On the contrary Femi Fani-Kayode released a press statement some days ago where he said
We start by saying that we commend and we congratulate General Muhammadu Buhari for winning this election. We also wish to commend our President, President Goodluck Jonathan, for having the courage to concede that he has lost the election at the earliest moment and also for being able to stand up and rise above party politics and being able to speak like a statesman. May God grant each and everyone of us peace. May He watch over our nation. May He guide our President for the next two months whilst he is still in power and thereafter and may He guide and lead the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, in the herculean task that lies ahead for him.
