Two past governors of Lagos State, Babatunda Fashola and Bola Tinubu are at odds. Fashola is presently facing corruption allegations which many believe have been concocted by Tinubu.
Babatunde Fashola, the immediate past governor of Lagos Sate is at odds with Bola Tinubu, another past governor of the state.
Fashola was been recently accused for looting government fund when he was in office. Fashola in response to the allegation has issued a lengthy public statement in which he denied the allegation. He claimed the some people are trying to tarnish his good reputation. He made an allusion to pig wrestling to refer to his detractors.
When you wrestle with a pig, the pig gets happy and you get dirty .
Although he did not mention names, his comment has awaken his clashes with Tinubu. Many people are of the view that he was referring to Tinubu.
Associates of Tinubu have denied his involvement in Fashola’s crisis. Fashola’s supporters on the other hand believe that the allegations leveled against him was to tarnish his ministerial ambition. This is what a close associate of Tinubu disclosed to reporters:
The person to be chosen must be acceptable by the people of Lagos and the ruling party. So if he (Fashola) is to be picked is it because he is acceptable to the party, or is it because he is a saint or what? The president can only pick him at his own peril.
