Renowned DJ Jimmy Jatt said his greatest regret in life is not wearing a mask like Lagbaja.
Celebrated Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt, has confessed that he envies Lagbaja. Jimmy Jatt claimed that he envies Lagbaja’s mask. Lagbaja, on the other hand (born Bisade Ologunde in Lagos), is a multi-award winning Nigerian Afrobeat musician, singer and song-writer. He is known for his colourful mask.
DJ Jimmy Jatt revealed that one of his regrets in life as a public figure was not wearing a mask like Lagbaja.
I regret not wearing mask from day one. I envy Lagbaja because he can do anything and get away with it.
According to Lágbájá, his mask is used as an icon of man’s facelessness. Lágbájá is a Yoruba word that means “nobody in particular”. It depicts the anonymity of the so-called “common man”. The mask and the name symbolize the faceless, the voiceless in the society, particularly in Africa. He is also known as “Omo baba mu’ko mu’ko”.
Jimmy Jatt recently organised the 7th edition of his annual event tagged Jimmy’s Jump Off. He also recently celebrated his silver jubilee in a grand style, at an event attended by some of Nigeria’s big names in the entertainment industry.
