The highly celebrated Nigerian artiste, Davido said he will be going for the National Youth Service Corp programme in November. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Davido relocated to Lagos at a young age. He released his debut album Omo Baba Olowo in 2012, which includes the singles “Back When” featuring Naeto C, “Dami Duro”, “All of You”, “Overseas” featuring Sina Rambo, “Ekuro”, “Gbon Gbon” and “Feel Alright” featuring Ice Prince.
David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, who graduated from Babcock University Ilishan- Remo, Ogun State in 2015 with second class honours in Music has been working on his second album for some time now.
He disclosed to Vanguard reporters that he is not planning to abscond the youth service programme.
Of course I am going for service. I will be joining the November batch.
Many people have thought that Davido will stay away from the programme because of the nature of his career. Davido’s loyal fans thought the Dami Duro singer would focus on the completion of his much awaited Sophomore project which is scheduled to be dropped this year according to the OBO crooner himself.
Davido, 22, bagged his MAMA’s best male award in Durban, South Africa last month.
