It is no longer news that Believers Loveworld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy charges the sum of N1000 as “gate fee” for worshiping at the church’s headquarters on Christmas Eve. But some people have not stopped complaining about it on social media and blogs, many claiming that it is typical of Nigerian pastors to place much emphasis on money rather than on “spiritual matters.”
The Wazobians Crew did a little research and discovered that churches around the world especially in the US and in Australia also charge a fee for admission into some of their important programmes.
A member of Christ Embassy told us that “members are not forced to pay the money as it is a matter of choice. Those who do not want to pay the money can go to other (Christ Embassy) branches to watch the live streaming of the service. The rush to HQ is always because people want to see pastor (Chris Oyakhilome) live. The same people who are complaining about these things pay far more than 1K to attend carnal events.”
