President Muhammadu Buhari has stepped up his war against corruption by appointing Prof. Itse Sagay as the head of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption.
President Muhammadu Buhari, in line with his anti-corruption war, has appointed Professor Itse Sagay as head of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption.
Professor Itse Sagay is a prominent professor of law and civil rights activist.
The Presisential Advisory Committee against Corruption is to advise the present administration on corruption related issues.
Members of the committee headed by Professor Itse Sagay include the following members:
1. Prof. Femi Odekunle
Professor of Criminology, Ahmadu Bello University
2. Dr. (Mrs) Benedicta Daudu
Associate Professor of International Law, University of Jos
3. Prof. E. Alemika
Professor of Sociology, University of Jos
4. Professor Sadiq Radda
Professor of Criminology, Bayero University, Kano
5. Hadiza Bala Usman
Civil Society Activist
6. Professor Bolaji Owasanoye
Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies
Member/Executive Secretary of the Committee
An established $5 million Anti-Corruption and Criminal Justice Reform Fund is to assist the Committee in its work. The Fund will be managed by the International Development Organization Trust Africa having programmes in more than 25 countries across the continent.
With the inauguration of this committee, President Muhammadu Buhari is living up to his promise of stamping out corruption from Nigeria.
