Members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group drowned in Lake Chad while fleeing from Nigerian military forces, according to reports.
The spokesman of the Nigerian Military, Major General Chris Olukayode made this known in statement he released today.
“A large number of terrorists have drowned in the Lake Chad as they fled the heavy bombardment by Nigerian Air force heralding the advance of Nigerian troops on mission to flush them out of Baga. Not even the strategy of mining over 1500 spots with land mines on the routes leading to the town could save the terrorists from the aggressive move of advancing troops.”
The Boko Haram menace has gone beyond a Northern Eastern Nigeria affair as the terrorists have begun attacks on neighbouring countries provoking the institution of a joint force comprising of 5 nations including Nigeria, Cameroun and Niger.
