178 people previously captured by the dreaded Boko Haram terror group have been rescued by the Nigerian Army. The raid which took place in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State reportedly saw troops of the 21 Brigade alongside 151 Task force of 7 Division of the Nigerian army rescuing about 101 children, 67 women and 10 men.
The army also captured a Boko Haram Commander. The army also burnt 5 motor cycles they met in the possession of the terrorists.
Announcing the raid, spokesperson of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Tukur Gusau said;
…three Boko Haram flags were recovered while five motor cycles were burnt by the troops. The troops morale remains high as they are determined to consolidate on the success achieved so far under Operation Lafiya Dole
