A baby factory was exposed in Enugu after one of the victims tipped soldiers from the 82nd Division in the Gariki area of Enugu.
A baby factory was busted by soldiers from the 82nd Division in the Gariki area of Enugu State.
According to sources, the baby factory was disguised like a hospital. The soldiers raided the place after they were tipped by one of the victims.
The victim, a woman, who allegedly escaped from the baby factory disclosed the location to the soldiers. According to reports, no less than ten pregnant women held against their will were discovered in the place. It is alleged that when the women deliver, their babies are taken from them and sold to costumers.
The woman that reported the case claimed that one of the managers of the baby factory offered to help her deliver her baby. After her delivery, she was told to go and take a shower and before she returned, her baby had disappeared.
She stated that the nurse running the baby factory offered her N120,000 and told her that her baby had been given to those who could not biologically have babies.
Mrs Chinyere Nome, the operator of the factory has been apprehended by the soldiers and handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). In this year alone, over twenty baby factories have been exposed in Enugu, Imo and Abia.
