Ali Baba came up with the rule that comedians performing at events must all dress in tuxedos or forget about taking the stage.
Veteran and celebrated comedian, Ali Baba recently warned his colleagues about their dressing to shows and events.
Unlike in previous years when the comedy stars were allowed to dress as they wanted, the father of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba, came up with the rule that comedians performing at events must all dress in tuxedos or forget about taking the stage.
The ace comedian took to his Instagram page to make the warning;
The year is grinding to our New Year Concert. And at the event #january1stConcert2015… We allowed comedians and artistes come on the stage without the accepted tuxedo or evening gown. Edi Lawani said, they were not informed early enough. In the #january1stConcert2016 event, we will be strict. The event is a class act. You either wear a dinner suit or forget about gracing our stage with your act. By this notice, we have given artistes and comedians performing, enough time to get fashion houses to clothe them. Now you have it in black and white… Tuxedo or forget performing at #january1stConcert2016. QED!!!
Fans are eagerly waiting for the reaction of other comedians on this rule of a dressing code from one of the pillars of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba. He told his fellow comedians to forget about performing in his concert coming in some months time without complying to the dress code.
