About a 100 or more people were killed, and 60 injured in a gas explosion which happened at about 8:00 am in a crowded restaurant with people having breakfast in central Madhya Pradesh state in India,this morning. It was disclosed that the explosion which was very intense, affected the nearby buildings. After the initial count of dead bodies, which was 20, the number of dead toll kept increasing, and now hits a 100 or more.
M. L. Gond, an inspector in charge of Jhabua’s police control said there are 60 confirmed injured at the moment, but there is a chance the number will increase. Arun Kumar Sharma, chief medical officer of
Jhabua district, told the media that about 100 people were injured in
the blast, 20 of them seriously.
Due to the intensity of the explosion, authorities suspect that someone may have stored detonators and gelatin sticks, an explosive material used in mining. In the restaurant or nearby buildings.
