The world commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bomb in 2015.
Humanity was stunned on the 6th of August 1945 when the first atomic bomb went off in Hiroshima and three days later in Nagasaki. This gory incident happened during the infamous Second World War. Japanese Force capitulated subsequently and ended the war.
According to Wikipedia,
“Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the acute effects of the atomic bombings killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 39,000–80,000 in Nagasaki; roughly half of the deaths in each city occurred on the first day.”
70 year after, humanitarian groups have called for world peace and international cooperation. This is aimed at forestalling a repeat of the sad incidence.
In commemoration of the ugly incidence, Mr Abe, a speaker in the commemoration ceremony, pleaded for worldwide disarmament of nuclear weapons. Memorial services were also held across Japan for the victims of the man made disaster. Mr Abe also spoke on terrorism, disease, famine and other nefarious factors plaguing humanity. He calls for world collaboration to put an end to these scourges.
Hiroshima Mayor Kazumi Matsui , a speaker at the commemoration criticized countries for keeping nuclear arms as threats to achieve national interests. He also claimed that the effects of the atomic bomb are still being felt in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He also called on world leaders to refrain from violence.
“President Obama and other policymakers, please come to the A-bombed cities, hear the hibakusha (surviving victims) with your own ears, and encounter the reality of the atomic bombings,”
