Singer Omawumi weighs in on female artists being seen as sex symbols in the music industry.
Following singer, Victoria Kimani’s lamentation on female artists being objectified as sex symbols in the industry, Omawumi has come out to air her view on the issue.
Omawumi, who recently granted an interview to Pulse TV, said she agrees with Victoria Kimani.
According to Omawumi:
There’s truth to what Victoria said, but to each his own. If you are a sex symbol you will be regarded as one.
The singer further talked about how Beyonce and Nicki Minaj’s images at Madam Tussaud were violated.
She ended the interview saying:
I agree with Victoria but instead of complaining do something about it. If anyone is in your business that is not supposed to be give them the middle finger, and tell them to leave you the hell alone. Be who you want to be without having to care.
Omawumi who recently gave birth, just released the video to her hit song, ‘Play na Play.’
