The first case of Lassa Fever has been recorded in Lagos.
Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, has revealed that the first case of the dreaded Lassa Fever has finally being recorded in Lagos state.

According to the minister, a 25 year old student of the Ahmadu Bello University, is the patient. He had traveled from Zaria to Lagos but has now been isolated at the Accident and Emergency (A&E) unit of the hospital.
He further added that Lagos residents need not panic as the government is working hard to ensure the spread is curtailed.
The Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Olufemi Fasanmade said:
Containment area being devised, ribavirin available. We will use theatre in A&E as isolation ward. No need to panic.
Lassa fever is a disease transmitted by infected rodents and several cases has been recorded in other states in Nigeria.
