A 14-year-old terrorist who was allegedly a spy for the Boko Haram insurgents was arrested in the Abuja Airport.
A 14-year-Old terrorist was nabbed in the Abuja Airport. The Department of State Services (DSS) said it had arrested a 14-year-old boy who said he had been instructed to spy on the airport’s security procedures, including passenger screening and boarding processes, and report what he had learned.
The 14-year-Old boy was allegedly working for the Boko Haram sect. The DSS claimed that;
The service, in liaison with the aviation security of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, disrupted a spying network mounted by the Boko Haram terrorists.
The service is working closely with major aviation stakeholders, especially the Aviation Security Department, to forestall any possible attack and to ensure adequate security at the airports.
President Muhammadu Buhari has mandated the Nigeria Army to crush the terrorists before the end of this year.
The Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Abuja a number of times including the bombing of the U.N. headquarters in the city four years ago, which killed 23 people. The ruthlessly sect has also resorted to using children as suicide bombers. The 14-year-old terrorist is presently in the custody of the Nigerian Army and investigations are presently ongoing.
