According to Alibaba, “Alibaba’s Spontaniety is a new platform to help truly creative comedians to ride the waves of their careers to fame and fortune. Let’s begin to discover the talented ones, so we don’t let them get stifled into oblivion by the visible comedians who feed off their creativity.”

According to Alibaba, the contestants will be scored based on the following; originality (30 points), creativity (20 points), delivery (10 points), stagecraft (10 points), timing (10 points), audience connection (10 points), and Unique Selling Point (10 points).
Alibaba says “if you have a comedian you know has real talents… and I mean REAL COMEDIC TALENTS… not the one that only knows how to tell jokes others have created, tell them to come to Muson Centre, March 1st.” He went on to clarify that the talent show is NOT for dancers, rappers, singers, actors or abunnna (whatever that means!!!!!).
The winner will get a brand new car, opportunity to co-host a radio show with Alibaba for 3 months and 3 months internship with any Nigerian comedian of his or her choice. Only Alibaba can promise this last one because no one else “owns” the comedy industry to this extent.
