Bayelsans have indeed made the PDP proud after Dickson’s victory was announced yesterday following the gubernatorial elections held over the weekend. Seriake Dickson beat his counterpart Timipre Sylva to enjoy a second term a governor of the state.
After a successful gubernatorial election held over the weekend, the People’s Democratic Party have commended Bayelsans for their support in spite of the challenges they had gobe through during the election held on Saturday.

Mr Uche Secondus, the acting national chairman of the PDP issued the statement on Monday, describing Bayelsa as a core PDP State which had grown very popular amongst the people. He stated that their action proved that they have taken their destinies into their hands. He congratulated Mr. Dickson and Bayelsans for the victory.

He however, lamented over the mishaps that occured during the election but reitrated that th perpetrators of the crime which led to the death of 14 persons, including Bayelsans, should be brought to justice.

Nigerian celebrity, Genevieve Nnaji has pioneered a movement in Nigeria that will help to fight and put an end to poverty, eradicate preventable diseases and fight for a better world by demanding better of our leaders.
She shared the link to the movement today on her social media while urging people to take action by joining her. According to the website the Nigerian entertainment icon provided, “ONE is a member of action/2015 – a movement made up of thousands of organisations, coalitions and partnerships that reflect the diversity of activists fighting injustice, inequalities, poverty and climate change all over the world.”
Good news to all Nigerians who have been finding it difficult to get their permanent voters cards ahead of the February General Elections. The Nigerian Federal House of Representatives have approved the use of temporary voters’ card in the elections.
The motion was presented by Hon. Femi Gbajabimila representing Surulere Federal Constituency. He said “Today on the floor of House of Representatives, I presented a motion to enable Nigerians use Temporary Voters’ Card during 2015 elections. Data of such persons must be verifiable on the voters register at the polling centre on day of election.”
“The motion would ensure registered and eligible voters will not be disenfranchised in the 2015 general elections. My colleagues supported the motion to use Temporary Voters Cards on day of election and it therefore scaled through.”
As at the time of publishing this, there has not been a statement from the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Arunma Oteh has left the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after five years as Director General.
She became DG in January 2010.
According to the report detailing her achievements as DG of SEC, “Even the most pessimistic observer would agree that the fundamentals of the market bequeathed by Oteh remain significantly sound. She has also left behind strong market institutions and a strong SEC Nigeria. SEC Nigeria has consequently earned global laureates including the Africa Investor Innovative Regulator for 2011, 2013 and 2014.”
