Nigeria Welcomes Prince Charles And His Wife.
Queen Elizabeth successor, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall arrived into the country today.
The British Royals were welcomed warmly in the Presidential Villa in Abuja by the President, afterwards, a short display was done by the armed force troops.
The Prince and his wife are on a 9 days West African Tour. The tour started on the 31st of October and will end on November 8th, 2018.
They plan to meet some dynamic Nigeria youths, traditional leaders, armed force officials, people in the fashion, art and charitable sector.
The Prince Charles made this comment before embarking on the tour:
“As my wife and I prepare to embark on our upcoming tour of The Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria, I just want to take this opportunity to send you all our special greetings and to say just how much we are looking forward to meeting so many of you.”
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the commonwealth countries and to remember the sacrifice made by Gambian, Ghanian and Nigerian soldiers in World War 1 and World War 2.
Key issues such as business and entrepreneurship, education of women and girls, defence co-operation, Commonwealth ties, youth opportunity and the relationship between the two nation will be addressed during their visit.
