National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) has uncovered a cannabis depot in Ketu area in Lagos. Prompting arrest of a mother of four.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA has discovered a cannabis sativa depot in Ketu, Lagos. This has also prompted the arrest of a mother of four, Timilehin Vincent Iyama allegedly the mastermind behind all the operations.
A total of 7.5 tons of cannabis was seized in an operation undertaken by the Seme Special Area Command of the NDLEA. The culprit, Timilehin who hails from Ondo said that it was her husband, Vincent Iyama who brought the drug locally known as ‘wee-wee’ from Ondo where it is cultivated.

She admitted that she and her husband have been involved in the illegal business for a while now. They used their apartment at No. 40, Kayode Badejo Street, Off Chief Tunde Aluko Street, Iyana-Ira, Lagos as a warehouse for the drug. To cover it up, Timilehin sold Garri which was believed to be her primary business.
During the raid on their house, a Toyota Sienna 2005 model with registration Ktu 737 DZ was seized from the suspect. However, her husband was not around. He was said to have travelled back to Ondo, presumably to get more of the drug.
Udotong Noah, Seme Special Area Commander said that the seizure was based on a tip-off. It was a major breakthrough for them:
Although the Area command has made a cumulative seizure of about six tons since January. This present seizure is the single largest since the Command was established about twenty-0ne years ago.
The Special Area Commander has called on all well meaning citizens to be more vigilant. And to come forward with more of such hints to help the Agency to dismantle all the cannabis supply chains.

With the present seizure alone, a lot of cannabis retail outlets within the metropolis are already sent out of business.
