Basketball legend: Kobe Bryant wins an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film
NBA legend Kobe Bryant won the Oscar for best short animated film in Sunday’s award ceremony in Los Angeles. Kobe Bean Bryant , former professional basketball player, 39, won the Best Animated Short Film for Dear Basketball, a five minute film based on a love letter to the sport he had written in 2015.
Bryant an 18-time All Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, won five NBA championshisp with the lakers. He ended his career with the LA lakers in 2016.
The Award was presented to him by Star Wars actor Mark Hamilll.
He gave his appreciative speech in honour of basektball players and other athletes influence on cultural and political life.
He said: “As basketball players, we’re really supposed to shut up and dribble but i’m glad we do a little bit more than that.
“Thank you, Academy, for this amazing honor”
