MarkZuckerberg Donates $1 Million To Mexico Quake Victims

Founder of Facebook, MarkZuckerberg has pledged to help the earthquake victims affected by the recent disaster in Mexico

MarkZuckerberg aside being known for owing social media platform, Facebook is also known for his philanthropy.

He said that the company will be donating $1 million to the Red Cross in Mexico. This will help to rebuild areas that were affected by the powerful earthquake that hit Mexico this week.

His statement:

My thoughts are with everyone affected by the earthquake in Mexico. 

Facebook is contributing $1 million to Cruz Roja Mexicana Sede Nacional to support the relief efforts on the ground. We’re also partnering with UNICEF to waive fees on all donations to their organization made through our tools that will go to recovery efforts in Mexico.

In addition, the tech giant will also be partnering with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to waive fees on donations made on UNICEF Facebook page.

On Tuesday, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Central Mexico with more than 200 people have been reported dead so far. Others were injured and some still under the rubble of collapsed building.
