Ikeja Electric PLC Threatens to Withdraw Services From Hostile Communities

Nigeria’s largest power distribution network, Ikeja Electric has threatened to withdraw their services from Hostile communities. This is over the recent rising rate spate of assault on some of our field staff the Disco said.

It was also said that “While we understand that issues surrounding electricity services can be emotive, we maintain that wanton attacks on our staff are completely irrational, unnecessary and unproductive.

Ikeja electric has said it will not condone any more attacks, harm, threat or intimidation from these communites to their employees when they carry out their duties.

The Disco also made it clear that there were platforms whereby complaints and recommendations can be tabled instead of violence as it were.

“Where these attacks persist, Ikeja Electric, in line with her obligation to provide service under a conducive atmosphere to its customers, will continue to escalate such matters to law enforcement agencies and will promptly withdraw its services from communities and customers that prove too hostile to operate in” He warns.
