Former U17 Male Coach Dies at 79

‎The former head coach of Nigeria’s U17 Male National team, Willy Bazuaye died yesterday 16th March in Benin at age 79, after 12 years of battle with stroke.
Willy Bazuaye led the Golden Eaglets to their debut victory in China 1985. He died at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City after an ailment that struck him in 2003 and left him partially paralyzed.
He was also a part of the technical crew at the Atlanta Olympics 1996 when he led the Nigerian Gold-winning U23 team to victory.
A source in Benin confirmed the passing on of the ex-international and former Eaglets coach.
Willy Bazuaye died this morning. It’s a terrible loss to the country’s football.
Willy Bazuaye was last seen publicly on the TV show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
