Real Madrid is planning to take legal action against a portuguese newspaper that reported he tried to pay off woman who accused him of rape.
This occurs a day after Correio da Manha published an article saying that part of Ronaldo’s defence will be to say that Real madrid forced him to settle the lady. It also said that Ronaldo was against settling and always declared his innocence.
The club said the information published by Correio da Manha is false and was printed to seriously damage the image of the club. Real madrid says they have absolutely no knowledge of any of the information the newspaper published with regard to the player, Cristiano Ronaldo. Therefore the club is unable to take action on a matter of which it had no knowledge of.
A 34 year-old teacher, Kathryn Mayorga, filled a lawsuit late last month in Nevada, saying she was raped by Ronaldo in Las Vegas in 2009. Cristiano Ronaldo has repeatedly denied the accusations but admitted they had consensual sex after which they returned to Rain nightclub and spent several hours together.
He admitted to paying Kathryn $375,000 in 2010, after she signed a non-disclosure agreement.
